The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) is Hong Kong’s primary rapid transit network, consisting of heavy rail lines, a Light Rail system, and a High Speed Rail link to the Mainland China.
Accessibility Features
1. MTR.Care App

We highly recommend downloading the MTR·Care App before heading over to Hong Kong.
It’s super handy because it gives you a quick breakdown of the accessibility setup at each station, showing you exactly where to find the accessible toilets and which exits have lifts.
Another useful feature is the portable ramp booking portal. Sure, you can always just roll up to the station staff on the platform and ask for help—they’re used to it! But booking your ramp ahead of time through the app is a solid shortcut. It lets the team know you’re coming, which saves you from waiting around at the platform while they coordinate things.

2. Signs of Accessible Exits, Cabin with Multi-purpose Bay, and Lifts
3. Electric Wheelchair Charging Stations
Since 2022, the MTR Corporation introduced its first Electric Wheelchair Charging Socket, allowing user to charge their electric wheelchairs with their own original or certified chargers and adapters, for 15 minutes. The service has since expanded to a total of 10 major MTR stations across Hong Kong.
